Slow Cooker Indian Butter Chicken

Serves 4

Ingredients

3 pieces Naan bread

1 red onion, thinly sliced

1 lb baby red skinned potatoes, quartered

1 jalapeno chile, minced

1 small bunch cilantro, leaves chopped

1 1/2 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1 T garam masala

salt and pepper

cinnamon stick

2 T butter, cut into pieces

15 oz tomato sauce

1/2 c heavy cream

Directions

Spray inside of slow cooker.  Crumble 1/2 piece naan into coarse crumbs in bottom of slow cooker.  Add onion, potatoes, chile, and cilantro.  Arrange chicken over vegetables.  Sprinkle with garam masala, 3/4 t kosher salt and pepper.  Dot with butter.  Add cinnamon stick.  Pour tomato sauce over all.  Cover and cook low for 7 hours or high for 3-4.  Uncover and stir in cream, breaking chicken into chunks.  Serve with remaining naan.
