Green Beans With New Potatoes

Ingredients
3 lbs. fresh green beans
1/4 lb. salt pork - sliced
1/4 cup bacon grease
2 cups chicken broth, plus more if needed
2 to 3 tsp House Seasoning {1 cup salt, 1/4 cup each garlic powder and black pepper.}
12 small red potatoes, peel strip around center
1 onion, thinly sliced
1/2 stick unsalted butter, sliced
fresh ground pepper

Directions
Snap beans, remove ends, wash. In large dutch oven lightly brown pork in bacon grease, turning often for 10 minutes. Toss beans in pot to coat well. add broth & House Seasoning - cover tightly for approx. 30 minutes. Add potatoes and onions to the beans; add 1/4 cup more of broth if needed. Cook, covered tightly approx. 30 minutes more. check periodically to make sure a small amount of liquid remains. When potatoes are tender, tilt the lid slightly off to the side of the pot and continue to cook until the green beans are wilted, approx. 15 minutes. while cooking, add the butter and season with pepper.
