Beer Bread

No bread? Some beer? ...you can see where I'm going with this...the bread is made of beer
Ingredients
- 3 c. self rising flour
- Or, make your own with 3 c. all purpose flour, 4 1/2 t. baking powder, 3 t. salt
- 2 T. sugar
- 12 oz beer (room temp or you'll kill the rise)
Directions
- Preheat oven tp 350
- Mix all ingredients, but don't overwork it (17 - 20 turns). The dough is pretty wet.
- Place in greased loaf pan
- bake for 1 hour, then test it by tapping the bottom of the bread - you want a hollow sound.
- Brush with butter at 45 minutes if you want
