Easy and delicious
Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 stick cold butter
1/2 cup dried currants
2 tsp caraway seeds
1 cup buttermilk
Icing:
1 cup confectioners sugar
2 Tbl milk
1/4 tsp grated orange zest
Directions
Preheat oven to 425. It is important to use a pan with side as the butter may run off a flat cookie sheet and make a big mess in your oven.
Whisk together dry ingredients. Cut cold butter into dry ingredients, using your fingers or pastry cutter until it resembles coarse meal. Add currants, caraway seeds and buttermilk. Stir until just combined.
Scoop 1/3 cup size mounds onto a parchment lined baking sheet with sides, 3 inches apart.
Bake until bottoms are golden, 15-20 minutes. Let cool on sheet.
Meanwhile, combine icing ingredients. Drizzle over cooled scones.
